Military Miniature Magazine and SJR Research are launching a new endeavor to provide printing and publishing services for the wargaming and miniature community. Military Miniature Press will serve as an outlet for authors, hobbyists, and community members to sell and distribute historical reference guides, modeling manuals, battle reports, and illustrated histories. The independent publisher will also accept new wargame ruleset submissions covering historical conflicts.

As part of its launch, Military Miniature Press will have open pre-orders on its first two publications:

Modeling and Painting Vietnam Wargames by Michael Farnworth
The Russia-Ukraine War Factbook by Craig A. Reed Jr.

Modeling and Painting Vietnam Wargames is a comprehensive guide to painting metal, soft plastic, and hard plastic models to match the aesthetics of the Vietnam War. Farnworth’s tutorials cover 12mm to 28mm miniatures depicting American, French, Anzac, and North and South Vietnamese soldiers and building vehicles through a variety of mediums.

The Russia-Ukraine War Factbook offers a deep dive into the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Reed outlines the complicated history between the two nations that sets the stage for the 21st-century invasion and describes the conflict’s initial phase. The factbook will feature orders of battle for Russia and Ukraine, descriptions of the military equipment used, and quick glimpses at key players and events.

The Russian-Ukraine War Factbook will be released August 30, 2022 and Modeling and Painting Vietnam Wargames is scheduled for a September 30, 2022 release. Readers can preorder both through the official press website (www.militaryminiaturepress.com). Both books will be available in paperback, ePub, and PDF.

Military Miniature Press, a subsidiary of SJR Research, is opening preorders for Modeling and Painting Vietnam Wargames. The guide is authored by Michael Farnworth, who previously released Modelling and Painting World War II German Military Figures in 2019. This elaborate guide provides readers with a deep dive into modeling miniatures for the Vietnam War.

Farnworth offers his knowledge of modeling and painting to cover topics like painting metals and varying types of plastic to match the aesthetics of the Vietnam War. There are painting guides for American, Anzac, French, and North and South Vietnamese forces, including characters from Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, and Platoon. Tutorials advise on building military vehicles, boats, helicopters, and landscapes of Vietnam, from rural villages to Hue’s ancient Citadel. Techniques cover 20mm and 28mm in metal, soft plastic, hard plastic kits, resin models, 3D printing, MDF buildings, and XPS foam scenery.

Military Miniature Press, a subsidiary of SJR Research, is taking preorders for its new reference work focused on the first phase of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine–The Russia-Ukraine War Factbook.  Authored by Craig A. Reed, Jr., the factbook takes an objective look at the conflict, cutting through the fog of war to deliver basic information about the first six weeks of the largest European conflict since World War II.

This factbook on the Russia-Ukraine War includes:

The Historical Background behind the Conflict
A Concise Narrative of the Russian Multi-Front Campaign and the Ukrainian Defense[/li][/list]
Full-Color Maps Covering the Course of the War in its First Phase
A Chronology of Events from February 24 to April 6, 2022
Orders of Battle for Both Russian and Ukrainian Forces
Illustrated Descriptions of Weapons, Vehicles, Aircraft, and Equipment

The Russia-Ukraine War Factbook is the first publication to be released by Military Miniature Press. It will aim to inform lay readers about the long and complex relationship between Russia and Ukraine, while also serving as a reference handbook for military service members, government officials, teachers and students, journalists, history buffs, and wargamers interested in the conflict.

Military Miniature Press will release The Russia-Ukraine War Factbook on August 30, 2022 in paperback, ePub, and PDF versions. Preorders are currently available through the publisher’s official website (www.militaryminiaturepress.com).

The handbook is the first of a series of publications focused on this conflict and others across the globe. A second volume is planned for Fall 2022, focusing on the war’s second phase, from the sinking of the Russian Black Sea Fleet flagship Moskva on April 14 through the fall of Sievierodonstsk on June 24.
