Looking for cute antropomorphic turtle adventurer
« on: June 30, 2022, 07:29:22 AM »
I've promissed my wife to do a model for her for ages now and I can't seem to find one I think suits her.
She's crazy about turtles, so I really want hers to be one.
I know she'll prefer some less "in your face" character classes, as they'd be called in a rpg.
Bard or druid would be amazing, the right wizard should do.
I'd rather not have it be chibi style.

Does any one know where I can source something fitting this description? Stl's would be preferable, otherwise I'd love to order it from within the EU.

Thanks.

These are tortoises, rather than turtles, but from my "figures I want to buy some day" list

There are a couple of similar models in the pre-primed wizkids (I think) range. I don't have access to the information just now, but I should be able to dig out the names tonight.

The Nolzur's official D&D range have these 'tortle adventurers', which at least tick the wizardy box:

They're widely available (even our local bookshop stocks them) and fairly cheap (five quid for the pair). I don't particularly like the style of the miniatures nor the pre-undercoating (usually over mouldlines), but they can do the job for D&D-specific beasties sometimes.

Heresy miniature have a were-turtle which may fit the bill. The open hand gives it easy customisation for weapons, etc.notwthat the figure isn't as huge as the photo makes it appear.

Dark sword. That's the name I couldn't think off.
That bard should fit the bill, unless I find something in the other ranges. That seems like a good fit.

Thanks everyone, for your time and responses.

In addition to the one that Ethelred linked to Darksword has a few other tortoise-folk who might work for you, especially:

I have the druid sitting in a box somewhere waiting on paint. It's a lovely mini.

I know who this is for, and I think Paulonious hit it on the head with this guy:

It's perfect; I might want to get one myself...  ;)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
Find a Way, or make one!
