A Flodden project for BillHooks 2
« on: July 01, 2022, 07:15:13 AM »
I made a start on my Flodden project for BillHooks 2.

The first unit is of Highlanders using QRF 15mm figures.  These ones are Clan Campbell. There are more pic’s and a bit about the clan system on my blog if it is of interest here’s the link.

I got an English unit done.  The figures are 15mm QRF Early Tudor.

Home’s Borderers and the Gordon’s are now up on my blog.  The 15mm figures are mainly from QRF.  There is some stuff about the Battle of Flodden too.

If it is of interest here is the link.

Projects coming along nicely

It is thanks.  I'm waiting for QRF to re list their Flodden Scots before I can complete the pike units.  Luckily I have lots of English to be getting on with.

I’ve made a bit of progress with my Flodden project both English and Scots.  The former are getting most of my attention as I’m waiting for QRF to restock the Scots.

Great project OB.
I dug up this oldish thread as I am working on some Flodden Scots myself and thinking about how to base my Highlanders, as some are firing bows and others wielding hand weapons.

I see you’ve based them together, which is what I was planning.

I’ve got quite a few Minifigs and Alternative Armies figures making up mine at the moment, but have also gone to Donnington Miniatures for armoured pikemen to play front rank lowland Scots.
My armies:
- Henry VIII's army (WIP) 15mm
- Ancient Germans (28mm)
- Ancient Belgae (Gauls with German allies) (28mm)
- Massilian Greeks (Greeks and Gallic mercenaries/subjects) (28mm)
- A few EI Romans (28mm)
- Handful of WW2 British (15mm)
- A load of old 1993-1999ish Warhammer Orcs and Goblins

Thanks Ockius.  My project is stalled until QRF complete their post move re-stock.  It shouldn't be long now.

Yeah, a weapon mix is right and looks good too.

I've used a mix of manufactures too.  I hadn't thought of Donnington though. I will have a look at them.

BTW, ERM figures are back in production with a new outfit.

A bit more progress has been on the English central Battle for Flodden.  The figures are mainly QRF.  The mainly flags made by Ray at Don’t Throw a 1.

Nice work! You’ve tied the units together with the colours well.

A nice project to follow, especially as it's one of my favourite battles. And I'll also say, good to see it done in 15mm, makes a pleasant change from 28mm (which I have loads of btw).

I'll be interested to see what you come up with using the 'Billux-Dillux' - I like your blending of different chapter aspects.
