Jaguar God miniatures (inspired by Verotik comic)

One of my favorite barbarian comics was the Verotik "Jaguar God". It was never strong on writing, but the imagery (especially the issue drawn by Mitch Byrd) was amazing. I have done 3 miniatures inspired by it:

First, one using a Bronze Age Miniatures generic male - everything except the axe head was then sculpted. Yes, I realize sculpting is not a strength for me 



Second, one using an old OOP Bronze Age Miniatures barbarian as the base, but converted for me by someone else before I painted it. The Olmec head on this and the next one are from Monolith designs




Finally, a female version, complete with incredibly badly done (by me, not Monolith Designs) creeper vine on the statue!

Bako, that's the problem - I  created it and thought it looked okay until others corrected me 
I was also rushing to get her done for the Chick Challenge contest, must have been several years ago.

 Jaguar God is one of my favorite characters.The Fire and Ice movie is very cool too.Frazetta has done some amazing work.

Bako, that's the problem - I  created it and thought it looked okay until others corrected me 

I think it looks so strange because it is uniformly "bright green". I´d suggest maybe adding shading for some 3d effect, in various shades of darker and maybe lighter green, so it doesn´t just look like a splurt of Kneadatite.

As for the rest, fur bikinis. Rowr.

I just got my hands on a second copy of the miniature below, which I painted and sold a few years ago. It is obviously Darkwolf from "Fire and Ice", but as I got him in a bin of loose miniatures some 15 years ago at least, I never knew who made him and any searches were fruitless until I stumbled upon him in a lot of Crimson Dragon (a line from TAG) Miniatures on Ebay recently.

Jaguar God and Darkwolf... great subjects for miniatures! 

Looks like they could both benefit from being revisited by more modern sculptors and manufacturers.

In addition to that Darkwolf miniature, I have some Frazetta stuff that isn't commercially available, some were given as gifts to regular customers of Bronze Age Miniatures and a couple were sold for a time but are OOP. I'll have to get some pics taken and post them.

Ok, here are some images of some more Frazetta stuff. None of it is commercially available I am afraid, but I thought some might enjoy seeing them (it will be awhile before I get around to painting them I think)>

First, one I painted maybe 7 or 8 years ago when I took the hobby up again. He is no longer produced, but is a fairly close approximation of the Death Dealer:



Second, a Darkwolf and Death Dealer - given as gifts to regular customers of Bronze Age Miniatures some time back:



Third, another Death Dealer (my favorite of these) obtained just as the one above and a figure from Doppleganger Miniatures that looks just like Teegra from "Fire and Ice".



And just for fun, a project/conversion that never came to fruition. This was supposed to be a female version of the Frazetta painting used for the cover of "Conan The Conqueror". Unfortunately, I somehow could not get a strong join between all the pieces of I used to construct her and she kept falling apart, so I just put her torso on some generic legs, sculpted a kilt and called her done. I'd like to revisit this idea though and see if I can pull it off better:

Thanks for the extra pics. That is a cool collection. I have a Ral Partha death dealer but he is still sealed in the blister. This might be the time to open him up finally!

Those are awesome - the skintones on the top Death Dealers are especially good. And the metallics are great! Barbaric Splendor!!!
