A terrified pedestrian in Lancaster, PA, backs against the wall as the creepy Flippos arriveI took my Mean Streets gang warfare rules to Historicon 2022 and ran a couple games set in downtown Lancaster, PA. That fit perfectly as that's where the convention was taking place. I have to admit I didn't really create special terrain for this game, but apparently a suggestion is enough. I heard passers by pointing out buildings on my tabletop to their friends, "That's the such and such building, and that one is..."
Mohawks punk Kira is caught tagging Santana territory by Julio and Cruz, while Sid tries to come to her aidMy games were full for both runnings, and I had a great group of players both times. In my events, each player controls his own street gang. I took the six most colorful and iconic gangs I'd painted up so far for the event - the Mohawks, Flippos (clowns), Santanas, and so on. Each gang is given a primary mission, which typically involves crossing the board to a relatively distant building and either shaking down the manager for protection money, stealing a car, shoplifting -- whatever!
The Mohawks arrive at the Shell gas station, where much of the fighting took place. In addition, each gang has a secondary mission of getting payback against a gang that put a beat-down on them last weekend. They get double VPs for knocking out members of that gang. Finally, players get VPs for "tagging buildings" with their gang logo, and using the specially printed foam circles with logos!
Looks like a rumble is about to break out as the Daos stand their ground against the SantanasCheck out my website for LOT more pictures, and more details:
