Beyond the Badlands

Anyone backed this?

It's EC3D's latest digital crowdfunding campaign, but even if it achieves no stretch goals I think it's well worth the 45dollars. You get a crap load of STL for post-apoc minis and vehicles, there's some scenery stuff too.

I'm just curing the free minis they give, happy to post pics if anyone is interested. I'm going to be using these for Last Days, sure they'd work for other stuff too.

I've been eying these. If you've got those cured ones I'd love to see them! And I agree, it's a pretty fair deal for a lot of goodies.

Here's what I printed yesterday, these are free samples from the backer page you don't need to pay for them.

The detail is pretty impressive, I love the muscle texture on the mutant guy. Also who doesn't need a portable generator for an objective marker?

I would love to see the neon sign painted up by someone who can do it justice (which would not be me)

For some reason the Motley Crew song popped into my head when i saw the sign.

Great pieces and even better that they are free.

 I dont have a 3D printer though which is a shame.4

Hah I'd like to say that would be me, but still I'll give it a go!

Meanwhile I've painted up my free guy:

Might need to go back and rehighlight the skin, it's a bit dark, but I wanted it to look like a mix between muscle with the skin removed (which I think the texture is supposed to represent) and a sun charred look. I really like the base toppers, there's loads of them included in the campaign too.

Finished painting up my car, decided to do it as the other mad max car rather than the last of the v8s (which it's obviously modelled to represent).

I really like Evan's stuff, clean crisp prints and they are simple to paint. Messed about with techniques on this one, tried some edge highlighting, some weird reflections in the windows, lots of dust weathering. And finally got some dirty down rust to play with too, though still need to practice with it.

I've already printed out the VW esque camper van for my next one, and there's a hummer in the next stretch goal I'd really like to get my hands on.
