The Crew of The Witches Revenge (And others)
« on: July 24, 2022, 09:33:20 PM »
Hello everybody peeps.
I've been tinkering around with various plastic kits since the original Stargrave Nickstarter. I went all in so had a box each of crew, mercenaries and troopers so plenty of stuff right? Wrong! I've since been buying up loose spurs of all sorts of stuff; Frostgrave, Oathmark, Bolt Action, Victrix, FFG and Wargames Atlantic. I just got hold of the female crew box too which should give me maximum variety and of course maximum mix and match possibilities. I freely admit these are more for the fun of building and painting than for gaming but am hoping to get some solo bounty hunter stuff in once I actually paint some of these little guys (I've not picked up a brush in anger for 8 years!!!) I've built quite a few but these guys constitute my first full crew:
Captain

Cpt. Eduardo St. Obart Back by matthatuk, on Flickr
Eduardo St. Obart, the disgraced, debauched and eventually disowned scion of a vast shipping corporation captains The Witches Revenge, a parting gift from his mother. Making his way across the galaxies, making creds wherever and however he can. Legal or illegal, stolen or found he and his rag-tag crew will move anything anywhere.
1st Mate
Dirty Dug Dugsson by matthatuk, on Flickr
Dirty Dug Dugsson Back by matthatuk, on Flickr
Dirty Dug Duggson, the 1st Mate, is a scoundrel and rogue and has been involved in almost every type of criminal enterprise over the years. Down on his luck and almost penniless he'd tried to win it all back only to lose the lot and more to some rather nasty members of the Gallifrey Mafia who were making some rather nasty threats when a very drunk Eduardo St. Obart burst in the room and settled the debt. Eduardo needed someone who knew the shady side of life, a man with contacts, friends in low places etc and so Dug became 1st Mate of The Witches Revenge

Firstly apologies for the ropey pictures but an I-Pod camera is, I find, a bugger to use.
Secondly, what do you guys think?
I'm currently trying to build a Gnoblar Chiseller and a few other bits and bobs and have various critters for Guard Dogs so hopefully will be posting more in future.
Thanks guys,
Cholly

Creaking kitbashes, particularly the captain. I would never have thought of that particular mix but it looks brilliant.

I love the mix of plastic figure sprues! A WWII German greatcoat works with the top hat! Very clever!

Can’t seem to post from my iPad and currently do not have access to my laptop ( real life ™️ is frankly a ba***rd at the moment) but would love to hear peoples comments/criticisms on these. Also, anyone have any ideas on when we’ll see the sprues for the mercenaries II set?

They are a collection of extremely creative figures.

I look forward to seeing them painted.

By the way, going back to the top, where did you get that head with the top hat?

I was wondering about building a crew based on The Crows (Grishaverse) and might be a good starter for Kaz.

Ultravanillasmurf, thanks for the comments. The top hat head is from the great escape games gunfighter kit. It has some great parts for kitbashy fun.
Unfortunately these guys probably won’t be painted for a while due to my currently being unable to access any of my hobby bits as my wife is currently an inpatient at a hospice on the south coast and I’m staying with her so my only hobby activity is checking out the various projects others have on here.
Still having ideas running round my head which at least takes my mind of things.
