The Blue and the Grey (Update 12.03.2023)
« on: August 15, 2022, 11:41:24 AM »
I'm in the process of re-basing my 28mm ACW collection to better fit my 8ft x 5ft table for intermediate to large battles using two 60mm frontage bases. Since 28mm is all about the figures and posing and not the unit imprint(imho) it works very well for my table. When the re-basing and new commands are finished I'll add new units later.

Texians

Iron Brigade

Alabamians

Fire Zouaves

Skirmishers

Wonderfully painted, thank you for showing them (and the new bases) off!

Great looking figures. And the new basing sets them off very nicely.

Interestingly we use very similar basing (120mm by 40-50mm) for some of our 10mm games which gives a good look for units, and gives plenty of space for lots of them on the table.

With the thicker basing you might need to do something similar for terrain - otherwise your figures might look a bit too tall against hedges or fences.

The bases are 3mm high which doesn't effect it's relation to my terrain which most of it is already on a base of some kind. Still thanks for the suggestion. :)

These look very good. I would have thought that two flags would be too much for such a unit but it works great. And the painting is great,
