Regiment van Birkenfeld
« on: August 30, 2022, 12:10:40 PM »

Here's my first Dutch unit, van Birkenfeld. Unusually, I did most of the painting on this unit. They are in the plainer Dutch uniforms of the mid-1670s, but the officers still add a burst of colour. I made the flags.

There's more about them on t'blog. https://bigredbat.blogspot.com/2022/08/infanterie-regiment-van-birkenfeld.html

I'm going to pivot back to ancients, for a time, but will hopefully manage to sneak in the odd 1672 unit before I make a Big Push in the spring.

Superb work!! The plainer uniform is lifted by the command stand and flags, looking forward to seeing more.

Another beautiful unit, Simon! The officers do look rather splendid and I’m sure no one would be so ungentlemanly as to fire at them first ;D . Great job on the flags - they look very convincing to me 👍

Thanks chaps. There's something I really love about this period, I'm finding it very hard to paint other stuff above these in the queue... they keep jumping to the top.
