It's my first time trying it, and I can tell I need to work on getting it even.  However, it's still a pretty good result even for the first time.

I think I'm going to make the black arts blue again and do the same azteching, but elongate the panels along the length of the parts.  I think I'm also going to do thin white azteching on the red parts.

Looks good, especially for a first attempt. I expect with a little practice the lines will come out bang on.

So many projects..... so little time.......

I would have suggested grey, white and toned-down red. I love those little lights. Never would have the hand to paint them myself.

The ship is finished, and I'm in the process of getting entry-worthy photos.

This is awesome, Foggy.

Being a player of Full Thrust & ASFoS, I eat this type of stuff up!

It's a wonder that your sanity is still intact after doing all that patterning.

Where did you get the spool in the model?

I have no idea.  It's been in my bits drawer for years and I got tired of looking at it.  My guess is that it was in my wife's sewing stuff when it had thread on it.

It looks like a cotton reel to me, should be available from any sewing or hardware store  :D

It is indeed a sewing thread 'reel', a 100m / 110 yard reel by Gutermann.

Am loving that space ship.  I've missed the updates on this thread but it really is special.  Deserves to be in the special effects department of a movie production.
