Yup…I was hoping to buy pre soldered…never mind.  Cheers

Been slow in coming but I’ve finished the Percy faction with a second unit of archers.   When I get a table set up next, I will take a group pic.

And a 1st corps flock of sheep…with a twenty five minute paint job!

Next up…..Clifford’s retinue.

I need to get the set of sheep. Very useful for the English country side.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

For those who like Terry Pratchet's 'Wee Free Men' the sheep should
have a startled look & be moving backwards rapidly through the
long grass (as the Wee Free Men rustle them)
 lol lol lol

I may have to read it!

I also ordered a couple of sets of Fenris dry stone walling.   Looking forward to painting that up.  I may just have to purchase a couple of medieval stone farm houses at some point too.

Cheers.

Real life has interrupted my flow but hopefully now I can proceed once more.

I have my first unit for Lord Clifford on the paint table.   The horses are painted, just need to do the riders.

My order from Fenris Games arrived, some beautiful dry stone walling.

I have also just ordered myself some printed scenery, this lovely looking Norman stone keep along with a small barn.   With the walls, a few sheep and an odd windswept tree, it should give me a nice sense of Yorkshire on the table!

The buildings have arrived…quick service and good prints.   I look forward to putting paint on them.

Inspired by this months WI article featuring Mike Peters casualty markers, I thought I’d have a go at a few too.   Always adds a little flavour to the battlefield me thinks.

Only problem is…it’s adding to my paint table! Lol

They are.  Check them out on eBay…they have a couple of different mansions / keeps.

It's a wonderful looking collection you are building up!  I've been slowly putting together a northern Lancastrian army myself, so it's great to see such beautifully painted figures as inspiration.

Will you move on to their Neville adversaries at some point in the future?

That’s certainly the plan.  I had to have a small operation a couple of weeks ago that has scuppered recent painting attempts but now I want to try and make some headway yes.

I want to finish the Lancastrians but have already bought a lot of the minis for the Yorkists too.

I look forward to seeing it. The Fenris stone walls I have are the nicest walls I own.

Cheers

So, next unit finished, Clifford’s Horse.    I’ve read about his mounted archers but wanted to be able to depict either them or a detachment of prickers so mixed loadout on these.

Unfortunately, this cements the simple fact I can not do freehand….as the dragons are terrible I know 🫣. I may over paint them and add decals at a later point.

The lesson is surely
1) Try freehand
2) Put extra baggage on the backs to cover the bad parts.
Two reasonable ones & the rest partially covered & it will look fine.
