VSF Inspiration at the Steampunk Art Exhibition in Oxford
« on: October 14, 2009, 09:16:39 PM »
If anyone happend to be in the oxford area between now and February I can thoroughly recommend a visit the ithe Museum of the History of Science to catch ethe first ever exhibition of steampunk art. No weapons on display, but lots of mad science inspiration.

I caught the exhibition yesterday for its opening and combined it with a visit to Oxford's natural history museum (they have a T-Rex skeleton).

Ooh cool, a T-rex. I'm trying to find time to pop over to Oxford and get a look, going to see a t-rex would be a good tie in. Oxford's quite a ways for you to go, hope it was worth it.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Brilliant stuff.

Reminds me again what a state of philistines I live in... (and not the colorful bronze age types, either.)...

Oh, for want of a museum!

Oxford is a fair old trip for me, but as a member of the brassgoggles steampunk forums it is something I've known about for a while and been thinking about traveling to see.

I'm one of those people who had interests that could be called steampunk long before steampunk really became a term so it would be very interesting to see different peoples takes on it in the flesh, or should that be brass, rather than just online.

Turns out I'm going to be by Oxford on Friday afternoon. May as well pop in and see the exhibit, and a T-rex :D
