20mm ASL in Miniature
« on: September 07, 2022, 03:13:44 AM »

A small ASL in miniature game set in the Hurtgen Forest. Typically I label the bottom of the bases but didn’t get to it this time.

This is cool , indeed.
Did you change the rules, How about stacking in the hexes like in the original rules?

I basically use the board game rules as is. I use a more true line of sight as the 20mm buildings don’t work out perfectly with the 4” hexes. Stacking is allowed, 3 squads, etc.

For multiplayer games I take out some of the more complicated rules - ELR, fire lanes, etc. I simplify residual firepower to a pin check in any hex that has residual in it. Little things like that.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks tomrommel! I love the game system so it’s worth the learning curve to get so much awesome chrome. There are some great WWII sets out there but the ambiguity of some miniatures sets bug me. And the defensive fire sequence in ASL is hard to beat for its ability to allow interruptions without unlimited firing by defenders.

Thats indeed the case. I used to play ASL with 6mm figures on the actual boards during my time at University. Today I just can#t find the time....
