So, Augustus from the previous page was painted. Not a great war leader himself (I might need an Agrippa too...), but a character to leave a mark on the world for sure.

I really like the blend of periods in your collection.  The look great fighting side by side.  Are you ever tempted to switch components between the Warlord plastic kits?  Like, a couple of Caesarian helmets in the Early Imperial regiments?

They were not built together and there are not too many leftover bitz from these kits. I am toying with the idea of chainmail trops with EIR helmets- lorica segmentata never completely replaced the good old chainmail, and metal armour basically does not have an expiration date, with proper care a lorica hamata shirt from under Alesia could've been easily used even during Traian's conquests. An other idea of mine is mixing the shields between the units- 1-2 is always breaking down, I will put them back onto other units figures.

Oh yes, it was a busy sculpt, some of the details I had to look two or three times at to figure out what is what, but at the end the simple colour scheme put everything into its place.
