RCW AAR Assault on the Trans Siberian
« on: September 17, 2022, 08:20:32 PM »
We played a pretty large Triumph of the Will Russian Civil War game recently with hordes of foot and horse supported by armoured trains biplanes and a solitary armoured car, full write up and lots of pictures on my blog here:

That looks fantastic and no doubt loads of fun - do like the addition of the aircraft.

Thanks very much. we are tweaking the firing rules so watch out for a smaller play test of the changes with Chinese and Whites in Mongolia coming soon.

Gorgeous models. Interesting another rules set led to an evening of moving towards the enemy with no combat!

Roger. Nice report. I presume "Triumph of the Will" are the Two Fat Lardies' set? How do you find them? I've found some of the "earlier" 2FL rulesets quite difficult to digest. I'm planning to game Spanish Civil War in 15mm . I have found a set of rules called "For Whom the Dice Roll" but an alternative is always of interest.

Yes TFL rules, they are not as well written as the newer sets but once digested are actually very nice and very intuitive. The firing rules are odd so we are changing them and making some clarifications for ourselves. Other than that I would certainly recomend them, no need to change for 15mm its the scale they were designed for.

Rofer, thanks. Always good to get an objective view before buying.   At £7 for the Pdf I'll probably give them a go. I will give particular attention to the firing rules!
