Lleddo Dad's Army Vehicles...
« on: September 24, 2022, 06:10:00 AM »
Anybody seen these models in the diecast, if so would they mix with Warlord's 28mm Dad's Army figures OK. I recall seeing a splendid looking set up on here once, complete with a downed Luftwaffw aircrew and the infamous U-Boat crew! Who made the German figure, I'd love to glean some of them for my latest little project.

We have used them together & were happy with the result.
Jones' van is one you must include Harry.

The Lledo Dad's Army and some other vehicles are fine with 28mm figures. I did quite few games several years ago with figures from various Pulp ranges - Artizan, Pulp Miniatures and some Cthulhu ranges for civilians. U-Boat crew, characters, a few fantasy figures and so on.  There are probably even more figures available now.

Be careful as not all models are the same scale, it seems the only requirement for model scale was that the final model should fit in one of their standard boxes. As a rule of thumb the smaller the vehicle in real life the larger the scale, so you may find the larger vans and trucks on the small side but cars just fine. Here’s one with some 1/72 Opel Blitz trucks and it looks about right in terms of scale, so perhaps a bit small for 28mm. I also have their AEC Regal bus and that is very small, probably suitable for 15mm.

Here they are with Foundry miniatures.

Corgi do a Jones' van in 1:50 but I think it's too big, which is a shame because it's a better model.

Lledo do a Hodge's van too.
Another option if you want to rope in Captain Peacock:

sorry the pictures are so small.

This one?

When Blood Red Skies first came out with Warlord, he came with one of the planes on the pre-order, Adolf Galland maybe? I can't see him on their site now.

I've a U boat crew for the Homefront coming out later this year.( Downed German aircrew and a certain bank manager are already in the range.)
But in the meantime I came across this seller on eBay ( not bought any myself as Partizan is around the corner. But sorely tempted to buy and tweak as 90% of the work is done for me.)
They're not technically accurate to the series but. Pre made and painted in 28mm. For £18 each plus free p&p. I thought they might prove a useful addition.

Hey Poiter50, open eBay UK search there for them, shipping to Oz is listed and reasonable (flat pack) I contacted him thinking of getting the Dads Army street set to see if it was compatible with my existing buildings, his reply including the building dimensions is below...
"Good Morning,
Thank you for your message.
These kits do not have interior floors, however the dimensions for them are -
Height to the roof - 10cm
Height including the roof - 16cm
width - 14cm
Depth of the house - 10cm
We hope this helps.
Kind Regards
Kristoff Designs"
Cheers
