American Unit for "The Silver Bayonet"
« on: September 25, 2022, 02:09:05 PM »
To match my brother's British SB unit, I am fielding this American squad. Action is now to be expected in the woods of British North America, the Mississippi valley, and the Caribbean islands...

The unit is led by Major G.W. McLane who has the Combat Rider perk and therefore is shown in mounted and dismounted form. His second-in-command is a young West Point graduate Lieutenant John Ravenel (of Huguenot stock). Lt Ravenel is accompanied by the formidable occultist Marie Pied-Noir, originally from Port-Au-Prince who since then has wandered many a dark and twisted path. Although Marie is ostensibly the "servant" of Lt Ravenel and he her "master", she makes all the decisions, manages all the money, and does whatever she pleases. Oddly enough, no one finds this the least bit noteworthy, at least while they are in her presence...

Rounding out the unit are native scout Otatshehte, a member of the Oneida nation friendly to the Yanquis; Rifleman Linus Bede of the 1st US Rifle Regiment; and a pair of St Lawrence County NY militiamen Privates Nathan Penrose and William Van Slyke.

Foundry figures except for Marie (North Star) and Otatshehte (Perry).

Lovely figures! I really like the "Yankee doodles" joining the fight!

Very cool. I might ha e to copy some of those ideas. I was worried there the Foundry figs might be on the short side next to the North Star one. But seems was mistaken.

Actually, your concern is well founded - the Foundry figures are shorter even than the Perry figures, which in turn are shorter than the North Star ones. So that's where good old American red cents comes in to play. For all of my units, the Perry figures are "shimmed" by one penny, and these Foundry figures are propped up by two. Once the bases are flocked and some standing grass added, it is (I hope) not very noticeable.

I like what you've done here. Any plans for American beasties and ghoulies to oppose them? If so then I look forward to seeing them one day as well. :)
