These are all from the old Battle Masters board game.  I'm assembling two 'convention' armies that I won't mind other people handling.  I'm almost done and then I'll be able to finally resume painting "real" miniatures that I want to paint! lol

And the last of the infantry...finally...though I have a huge batch of cavalry to tackle now.

Some monopose Wood Elf allies.

I finished the project this evening...and learned many lessons...namely that I was stupid to start the project and hated it by the end.  Now...to start working on stuff I actually like.

On the plus side, six months and two days into 2024 and I've shattered my yearly painting record...already.

The Empire army looks fantastic, you really did justice to those Battle Masters figs. Kudos!

Sorry that you felt bad about it and hated it by the end, that's really hard. Nobody likes their hobby when it turns into a monotonous grind. It's the gamer's lot in life sometimes. I hope your next project is much more satisfying!

Sorry that you hated the project- I think all of us have been there in the hobby. Congrats on finishing either way, hope the next project is more to your liking :)

Very inspiring work sir ! The amount of minis painted in such short time is really impressive.

Nothing warms my heart more (in wargaming terms) than seeing a well painted Battle Masters army. Well done, sir!

The Battle Masters armies finally see the table in anger.  Sadly my historic bad dice rolling (roll eight D6...roll five '1's) returned with a vengeance.  I don't normally blame bad dice rolling, but it played a significant 'roll' (badum tssss!) in me losing with my Chaos/Orcs.

The game looks great! Your armies turned out well and it is very cool to see them in action.

That all looks very impressive.  Very much like the photos from a 1990s-era rulebook or magazine battle report.  Excellent.

Hopefully getting a few games in with them will help you forget how onerous the project was to bring to completion!

Another game this weekend.  My buddy brought out his first unit of lovely painted dwarfs to join the Empire.  Forgot to take pics but I stole some of my buddy's.

Looks like a great game! The battlemasters stuff looks great (as I'm sure I've said before) and the dwarfs are lovely too :)

I'll be doing more proper armies in the future, just taking a break...and considering what I'd like to do next.  At the moment, my buddies are going ham...

Player 1: Undead, and Orcs (and some humans on the side)
Player 2: Bretonnians
Player 3: Ancients and Undead
Player 4: Dwarfs and Bretonnians
Player 5: Dwarfs

Everyone seems to be doing a Warhammer-themed army...and that's going to be my issues as I simply won't pay comical GW prices for their stuff.  I'd like to do something like Chaos Beastmen or some such, but at $60/10 models...not a chance in hell (that's $180 for a single unit of light infantry!).

Oathmark I'm ambivalent on, but have looked at their Elves (maybe with some 3D printed bits and bobs).  Only thing on my radar right now is a mercenary forces to mimic Dogs of War, using everything but GW kits.
