Yeah, writing a game which holds up to a lot of play is definitely a chore (one I enjoy, but a chore nonetheless!).

Fortunately, the best thing I can say about FSF, is that it plays quick and smooth...possibly it's best attribute.  We've played 50+ games by now I'd wager, and we've smoothed out a lot of things that you don't consider when first starting.

The only thing slow about FSF is that it can introduce analysis paralysis when it comes to what units to activate in what order.  It would probably take 2-3 games to get to the point of running the game really quick and efficiently.  The game isn't simple...but intuitive if that makes sense!  lol

I finally snapped some pictures of Brivoli's Great Company in its current form.  It won't be much larger, maybe another 4-5 units (cav, artillery, infantry, etc.).

More pics on the blog.

That is a very well done force! It has an interesting variety of troop types and I like your painting and basing a lot. It is just classy all around.

It's a mix of a couple various dark blues.  One is Vallejo, one is a Vallejo XPress paint (Black Lotus, which isn't really black), and another AK colour.  Just depends on the model.

It's really nice to see an army that looks so cohesive- my own Empire/fantasy human troops have been accumulated at various stages and suffer from the dreaded "preferred painting style of the year syndrome," which while allowing me to field a decent sized army, often requires a bit of hand waving as to why these guys wear this color, those guys wear that color, and those other guys are covered chipping gloss enamel...  Great work!
I have a YouTube and so can you!

Yeah, one of the few benefits of painting so much in such a short time frame.  This army is closing in on "finished", though it'll be a while!  Heck, I may even play them some day (I've never played my mercenaries as a player, lol).

Another quick unit of skirmish cavalry from the mercenaries.

While this picture kinda sucks, I started another smaller company of Araby missile infantry.  These guys have extra weapons and shields to represent additional traits I'll be giving them during games.  Think light missile infantry which can fight more sturdily than normal.

Another good looking unit: the subdued colours work well on them.

Gorgeous! Love the whole army, you've done a great job at making some pretty disparate models look really cohesive on the table- and in a cracker colour scheme as well :-*
