Hypothetical Russian Armoured Squadron
« on: October 16, 2009, 05:50:20 PM »
I've just finished 3 Vezdekhod Russian Tanks to go with my Austins and Mendeleev Tank, its fast shaping up to be a pretty powerful Armoured Squadron for my infant Russian Army, just a pity perhaps that the Russians never actually managed to get any of these Experimental Tanks into production, could make an interesting hypothetical scenario for gaming though :) any comments and questions welcome.

cheers

Andy

I´m torn between exclamations of "awesome" and just "awwwwwww"...

Superbskoye workski. Love the Mendelejew, but the Austins and Vezdekhods are lovelyski, too...

It's hard to believe the Vezdekhod was a real thing. No insult on your great paintjobs intended, but they look so, what's the word...  stupid? No, maybe that isn't the word: Fictional is what they look, like the kind of silly nonsense they play with over at VSF Adventures.  :)

Totally smashing job on them, though. Great looking force.

they did actually make an experimental hull of the Vezdekhod albeit without a turret (see link below), so its not complete fantasy, but yes they do have a 'toy tank' look about them.

Beautiful stuff. May I ask where you got the Mendeleev?

Hi Andy,

I just want to express my admiration to you for a top collection of Russian vehicles that will expose from folks loads of eyeballs popping out!

Don't forget the "Czar's British Squadron" that roamed the battlefield! There was even an Australian in the squadron.

Top work,

Helen
Best wishes,
Helen

Thanks very much for the kind words everybody, in answer to your question Doc, the Mendeleev was scratchbuilt.  There are some more pictures of it here

I guess it would be 28mm?
a pity it would be hypothetical

I wouldn't have any problems with gaming it, steampunk or not
Fictional is what they look,
the Tsar tank of course looks very realistic  ;)

Thanks for explaining. May I say, that is a -hell- of a scratchbuild.  Wouldn't mind having one of those myself.

Most excellent! It's always a pleasure to see my tanks perfectly painted and arranged like you did!

Best,
