It's the 5th, 13th, 15th and 20th French dragoons, 71 figures in total (because the officer of the 15th decided not to show up for the photo shoot. He was apprehended by the gendarmes shortly thereafter and is with his regiment again.). Not a single base between them. No matter who ever I paint AB figures for, I'm not allowed to base them. And I painted a lot of AB figures for several people. :D I absolutely get it, it's just a funny little factoid.

Anyway, I hope you like dragoons, otherwise this post maybe won't do it for you. :) And if you do, I hope that you like these in particular.

They look wonderful!  :-*

Eighteen men per regiment, eh? So I would assume your client has 36 man battalions. Boy, that is a lot of minis!

Impressive sight mate - I like your painting anyhow, but with ABs top notch meets top notch! If they would only offer 10mm miniatures....

Cheers Fedja

@Ray Rivers: Yup, I hope so! These dragoons are the first units I do for him, but I hope to paint more in the future. 36men infantry batallions would make sense though (and look really nice). I'm getting the impression that that's more or less the standard for AB figures. 15mm allows for such unit sizes, while also looking pretty close-up. I'm not saying that I'm a huge fan of 15mm, it's more than that: It's the figure size that just works on every level. Which is annoying, because truths about what's sensible are always annoying. :D

@MaleGriffin: Thanks very much. I'm rather taken with how popular pictures of these chaps here are, despite the smaller scale, the troop type being all the same, and the lack of basing. :D

@Freddy: Cheers! And good fun to paint too. AB figures really strike a good middle ground.

@Gunner who?: :D Very kind, thank you! I'm usually a big fan of 10mm, but with my own Napoeonics I'm sat with 6mm and 28mm. And I play with neither to be honest. Not yet at least.

@OSHIROmodels: Cheers!

@Bloggard: Many thanks, Sir.

@carlos marighela: That's a good name you got there. Thanks for the comment!
