Golgotha's Samurai
« on: November 07, 2022, 02:11:56 PM »
Herewith, some 28mm Samurai for Test of Honour and similar. Note the idea to put printed paper in the bottom of the movement trays so that the hole on losing casualties is not as glaring.

Great idea using printed paper in trays. I painted mine, but this looks a lot better.

Cheers Sgt_T and Grumpy Gnome.

See: http://www.johnstuart.biz/historical_artwork_of_samurai_ba.htm - for useful reference for banners/flags.

Such as this one, which I used as inspiration.

I will be adding some separate flags inspired by these as extra themed colour and may be able to use them for order counters or objectives or just to look nice.

Nice idea with the printed paper in the sabot bases.
Did you cut out circles then stick them in, or
was the sabot base in two parts (top & bottom)?

Will use printed paper for the separate banners the ones pictured on the miniatures come with the minis and are plastic and therefore painted.

Not the banners, which are nice, but the circles in the trays. ???

Gosh I misread that  lol - sorry was tired when I responded. I cut the circles of paper first and then glued them in.

The bases were in one part when I got them but it was all second hand and the minis were made and had some paint on them already so I repainted and saved them.

Herewith banners and pavises done. I managed to get everything here, except the buildings, done in a week so happy with the progress. All the pavises and banners were scratch-built from printed paper and using brush bristles I was surprised at how easy the cross beam at the top proved to be.
