Life Guard On Duty
« on: November 10, 2022, 08:58:06 AM »
Just posted a new blog entry on Gustav II Adolph’s Life Guard Company; the latest unit for my Swedish 1620s/30s army.

Read and see more about it here: https://theviaregia.blogspot.com/2022/11/lifeguard-on-duty.html

Figures mostly TAG (with some head swaps), with honourable mentions to Avanpost, Brigade and Warlord.  Flags by Flags of War and bases by Warbases (of course!).

Beautiful.  I love the subtle gray on gray shading.

Very nice indeed. Nice use of some TAG, Avanpost and Brigade Games figures in cassocks.

And now I have Sabaton's "Livgardet" stuck in my head.
You, sir, are not allowed to attempt a takeover of the solar system until your octopus sobers up.

I think your use of the Brigade Games Three Musketeers figure is particularly clever.

Thanks, Paul 👍.

I put in an order to Brigade last year as I wanted some of their Napoloenics (Sharpe inspired Peninsula stuff) and also some of the 17th century figures.  I’ve been looking for ways to add the 17th century ones in to my TYW units and this chap looked great as an officer of the Life Guard.

Hopefully there will be a fancily dressed French shot unit in the future at some point. :D

I've often been tempted by Brigade Games' pack of firing and loading musketeers, but not yet succumbed. The postage from the US is a bit of a killer. Really nice looking figures, though.
