Scenario Books for Sellswords and Spellslingers
« on: December 11, 2022, 07:51:45 PM »
I've seen several people post here about campaigns using SS&SS. I've played through the main book and Count Caraneli's Curse, what other scenario books are available for purchase? Thanks

Official releases, there's Last Stand at Mistham by Sunjester (Graham Harrison) which is already out, and Night of the Assassins which is due soon.

I believe there's at least one more also in the pipeline.

Many of the campaigns played on here are based on Graham's unofficial works and csn be found on his blog.

He's adapted the system for other periods too, as have many of us. His Starstones campaign was based on a theme I created where the endgame was to find a certain number of items. You keep having to add scenarios if you're not quite there which is fun.

I used many of the basic scenarios but with twists to make them unique,  and usually harder.

"....usually harder" is key I think. SS&SS is a brilliant game and IMHO the best at doing what it was designed for, it's only shortcoming appears with a lucky run of player die rolls making the scenarios no challenge for even very low level parties.

There is frustration about bad luck making a difficult scenario too difficult, but we find that serves to make you want to run the scenario again to beat it.
A scenario where a few lucky die rolls make it too easy is actually disappointing and tedious. There is no desire to re-run a too easy scenario to try and lose it.
Better to err on the side of too difficult than too easy.
