The Eclectic Army
« on: November 21, 2022, 04:39:11 PM »
This is a somewhat whimsical painting log. Inspired by Matakishi's Religious Fanatics, I have started painting a few minis with no plans for a game or rules at present. Just whatever takes my fancy, as part of my Eclectic Army!

Firstly, we have a unit called The Inquisitors. Their purpose can be inferred from their name. I am planning to support them with some minions made up of Frostgrave Cultists. For now, we have Cardinal Ximinez, Cardinal Fang and Cardinal Biggles.

The Lightbringers come next. Their job is to carry the flaming torches, with which they burn the victims of The Inquisitors. Led by the Bishop of Much-Piddling and supported by The Bearer of the Eternal Lighter. The Lighter is the baby dragon, who can always provide a light if the torches go out!

Next, we have the Clam of Chowdah, accompanied by his formidable bodyguards, The PhatBuoys.

Then we have a few NPCs, names and purpose undecided as yet.

Finally, The Brothers of the Quivering Brethren.

...more inanity to follow...

Interesting mix of figures. Well painted interesting mix that is.  :D
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

I started gathering miniatures which were left handed - and called them “Sinistrians”. Likewise, I have a small number of figures each with 4 arms. Yep, they are “The Forewarned”. Sadly, the project ground to a standstill as I flitted away onto another project…
Cheers,
Geoff

That one NPC is clearly employed on the Brute Squad.

Sorry, that NPC IS the Brute Squad.

Oh, that IS a good mix of figures there. :) My favourites are the NPCs and the Clam of Chowdah. What make are those guys? I like some classic oriental fantasy stuff.

Great painting and figures although, I didn't expect the Spanish Inquistion.
Will we be seeing a comfy chair?

Firstly, thank you all for your very kind comments.

Yep, they are “The Forewarned"

elliesdad, love that, brilliant idea!

Battle Brush Sigur, the Clam of Chowdah and his bodyguard are Games Workshop.

Ethelred, there was a cushion option with Cardinal Fang, but I went with the scroll, as I imagined him reading out about "our three main weapons are" etc!

Now, these were painted some time ago, but I'm wondering whether I should include my 'Town Watch' into the Eclectic Army, what do you think?
