I second that. We recently played two games of Grimdark Future Firefight (the skirmish version) in one evening, with time to spare. The rules are nice and simple, but do have enough depth to make each force feel different.
First time playing a 40K(ish) game in almost a decade, and it was a blast! I too probably have mostly 3rd ed games under the belt, with quite a bit of 4th thrown in and some 5th as well. But to me too, 3rd remains as the most fun of the editions. And Grimdark Future feels like 3rd a
