Moving right along we unveil Box # 11

8 TH VA
MD Militia
2 ND MD
NC Militia
1 ST VA

There are only a couple of boxes left to show.
Of course, I turned lazy and didn't finish taking photos of all the boxes.
There are another 6 or 8 boxe that have not been photographed yet.

I'll get to it sooner or later.

There was Webb's Regiment that wore captured British Uniforms.
Foreman's Reds which was an "additional' Regiment.

There's at least two others.
7th Connecticut and 4th Continental Light Dragoons?

Box # 12 which brings me to the end of this little post.

I have another 10 boxes left to photograph.
If and when I ever get to them, I will resume putting them on display here.

Here we have NC, SC and VA troops.

I have 1 more SC Unit that I will post in the next comment.
Not enough room here!

12 + 10 = well, 22.  And that doesn't count all those other containers you've already shared.

The Madness of a King, indeed.

And if you could see me, you'd see a bit of green tinge, you would.

All ready for the Southern Campaign, it seems.

Ok, this is the end of the pizza boxes for now.
As I mentioned, I may get back to it later on.
But for now, this is the last of the "Pizza Box" photos.

I did a lot of "winter" terrain for the Trenton Campaign.
I did figures, artillery, mini dioramas and scatter pieces all "winterized".

I was thinking of getting all those picture together as a "10 Days" thread.

What do you think?

Of course Yes to the 10 day thread!

So, rather than more troops from the little known colony of Unk we have a group of South Carolina troops.  The flags are the give away.  Which means somewhere you must have A LOT of North Carolina units - perhaps already seen(?).

15's,  Actually South Carolina seems to have provided more troops to the Cause than NC did.

Just looking at Cowpens, you can see that SC Militia outnumbered NC troops almost 5 to 1.
I've always been partial to the SC Militias, who fought so well in the back country.

I did do Quaker Meadow Joe McDowell's NC Riflemen for Cowpens.
And I have all of the NC Over Mountain Men done for Kings Mountain

The SC and NC Militias are favorites of mine!

I think I was reflecting on the 9 North Carolina regiments at Brandywine in my comment.  But I am not as well versed on the militia from the two colonies - but aware of them.  Of course, the famous triumvirate was from South Carolina - Marion, Sumpter, and Pickens.  And you can add in Green, Moultrie, and Morgan.  So SC made a pretty strong contribution to the revolution.    Too bad they tarnished their reputation in a later conflict.

Possibly 10 NC regiments, if you count Sheppard's Additional Continental Regiment which fought at Germantown and may have been present at Brandywine (but I've never seen it listed). I feel like the NC brigade is overlooked a bit because they weren't really used at Brandywine, suffered badly at Germantown, and were completely gutted at Valley Forge.

With the dozens of un-named Regiments that I have, NC will get their fair share.

15's   I highly recommend the book "True For the Cause of Liberty" by Ed and Kathrine Gilbert.
It's basically an expanded version of the Osprey book on Cowpens, which was written by the couple.

It will give you tremendous insight into the SC backcountry war
It goes into great detail about the various SC Militias and the command structure.

Very readable. You won't be sorry.
