Lucid Eye Rome
« on: December 08, 2022, 09:50:05 AM »
Hi all,

With 2023 looking round the corner I thought I would start a new painting project. I have been looking at lucid eye (Steve Saleh) Rome range. Either the Macedonia or the republican Romans. Has anyone purchased or have some painted examples that you can post on here ?

I have some of this range (Perseus and Greek heroes), the scale is heroic, with definitely long athletic legs - rather than the often stubby gams that 28mm figures have, do set these apart. They are cleanly cast. but the single poses, wide stances, and thick spears kind of put me off. But they have lots of detail and the phalangite pose is my favorite since it mirrors my old Ral Partha figures with the 30 degree pike angle. There is something to be said for mono poses though its not my bag anymore.

They make a reasonable good mix with the chunky Foundry figures.
They are big!

I’m curious, do these match, size wise, the Salah Romans from Foundry?

I mixed my Lucid Eye miniatures with Aventine and Gripping Beast. I'd say once you swap the shields they fit pretty well together.
