Wargames Atlantic Partisans kitbashing project
« on: December 21, 2022, 09:32:07 PM »
I have to admit that I very much dislike it when my irregular forces look like Frederick The Gtreat's Grenadiers because the minis are all posed alike. To ensure this didn't happen I kitbashed the Wargames Atlantic French Resistance with the spare parts from the 02 Hundred Hours and WW1 Germans sets. It took a little work but no two of them are the same

You can see the complete collection here :  https://antonswargame.blogspot.com/2022/12/partisans-for-real-this-time.html

Very nice.  I will likely do something similar when I build my 2nd box as actual WW2 partisans.

My 1st box's guys ended up with M16s and AKs...

A great set of figures - lots of variation in them - and lots of automatic weapons, some very well armed partisans!

I also spent some time reading about Fort Matanzas after seeing its photo many times as the header on your blog and also Fort Pulaski - great photos of both.

Great kit bashing.
WA Resistant are a little bit smaller.
I use some of Pz Lehr bits for the same purpose too.  o_o o_o

Fred, Yeah in looking at them again they are VERY well armed. If the real Resistance was that well off D-Day might not have been necessary!

I will have to buy another box and arm them with knives, clubs and Molotovs. I have also been thinking that they would make good minis for the Easter Rebellion ( especially with a few Mausers from the Perry's Franco-Prussian war set) Or as Spatacists and company for Berlin 1919-20

They could also be used in 1920s/1930s US gangster games....

Mine too. :D

@CapnJim: I think the main strong point of this set is the versatility. And honestly, we need to mix and match with them, because the choice of arms isn't that great, and I can't put up with every one in 6 or 3 so throwing a grenade. :D

@Battle Brush Sigur:  Yeah, I saw your modern conversions on WA's forum after I started mine...well done!

And they are versatile indeed!  Anton's figures are more proof of that! :)
