Let's Fight Leipzig! A Napoleonc Scenario Book
« on: October 20, 2022, 06:49:44 PM »
Hi All. I am just putting the finishing touches to a new scenario book (following on from the Seelow Heights volume I did a couple of years ago) on the battle of Leipzig. It will have a dozen scenarios with custom maps, detailed orders of battle and some seriously nice eye candy to go with it! You can get a preview on my blog at:

Here are a couple of the preliminary photos:

What scale - 25/28mm?

Read you blog post....

My first introduction to Napoleonic Wargaming (into wargaming period) was via Bruce Quarrie's 'Airfix Magazine Guide 4 Napoleonic Wargaming' from 1974.  I got it when I was in Grade school, back in 1975 or very early 1976.  It was the very first book I ever bought with my own money, got it for .50¢ at a used bookstore.  To this day I use its mounting system.

I like big battalions as well and have a copy of Peter Gilder's 'In The Grand Manner' in my collection.

My figures are all 28mm - eyes not good enough to paint anything smaller! I cut my teeth on Quarrie and "In the Grand Manner" too - a group I play with still use them, although I must admit to favouring General d'Armee.

A link to your Seelow Heights book, please?

Just to let you know that the book has arrived from the printers and is being shipped. Prices, including postage are £23.50 in the UK, £27.00 in Europe and £29.00 in the rest of the world. I have put a few extra photos on the blog to whet your appetites! Hope you enjoy.

Arrived on my doormat just before Christmas and I have spent the festivities reading and re-reading through the scenarios, all very tempting.

Steve what size is the table, my guess would be 8 x 6?

Hi. That is broadly what I use, but I kept it deliberately vague as I want people to scale the game to suit their own collections and table space. We are hoping to play the games at double scale on a 15 x 6 as we are fortunate enough to have the resources!

Thanks for that, some scenarios have units deployed X inches iin from the edge so I wanted to get the positions generally correct.
