Excellent wolf riders! I like how you painted the wolves, definitely captured their colouring well.

Lovely stuff, a fine bit of colouring-in on some well deserving models.

Wonderful thread and some lovely paint jobs. Those wolf riders are knock out. And ranking Grenadier wolf riders is no mean feat either!

Thank you very much, I do appreciate.

Last batch of figures before the end of the year, a regiment of Orc Warriors.

Same colors as for the previous units, same bases, and a mix of several manufacturers: Grenadier, Ral Partha, Alternative Armies, Old Glory and Citadel, even one plastic figure by Warlord Games.

Let's have a closer look at some of them:

1. Ral Partha Gargantua Orc(z): a design from the 90s, but a figure I bought this year

2. Chronicle Hobgoblin - because I love this range and I love painting white fur:

3. Armageddon Giant Goblin - Armageddon was a french manufacturer from the 90s, but except for a page in a magazine named Casus Belli (see below), I couldn't find anything about them on the web. I only know that this figure is the first of a series of 12:

4. The Unknown Orc figure - Grenadier ? Metal Magic ? I unfortunately don't remember, and I probably never knew since most figures I've bought were out of their blisters. Does any of you have the answer ?

More pictures and explanations here.

That's all for today and for 2023. It still have many units to complete:
- 3 other regiments of warriors
- 2 troops of orcs on wolves (one with bows)
- 1 horde of trolls (6 figures according to KOW, 3 are painted)
- 1 troop of archers
- 1 regiment of boar riders, one is painted as you can see below:

Enough figures for at least the next two years  :D

More great stuff!

The unknown figure is a Grenadier orc - a conversion of one of the Orcs of the Black River.

This new unit looks great! As others have said, the mix of figures works very well together and the colour palette you chose suits them. I think that the additional units you have planned will make a good force.

They are insanely good.

If my Orcs were a tenth as good as that, I'd be a happy... Orc!

Thank you very much for your kind comments, they encouraged me to paint some more green figures  :D

And here you are, a Goblin War Machine to support the Green Horde:

You will probably have recognized the venerable Skull Crusher, released by Citadel in 1986. A lot of funny details... I like it a lot!

And here you can see the Goblin team in front of the machine:

A pleasure to paint, hope you like them!

That is just excellent! I don’t think I have ever seen that model painted (certainly never as well painted). You are right about the details, all of the metal fittings look like they have faces or some other decorations! Your choice of colours and painting techniques suits the model very well.
