What do you have planned for Easter?
« on: April 07, 2007, 11:49:28 AM »
This is what I am doing:

Though the car might be too big, I think it was a steal price wise, the flying boat will become a tad more civilised and floating in the water and the dinosaur will get based and decomposed a bit

One great weekend, nobody around, all the time for myself, and for under 10 euro's.

Brunch w/ the in-laws... :(

I'm thinking of throwing myself down the stairs so as to avoid the more awful pain of having to go...

I am just finishing off a company of Royal Navy Commandoes for Crossfire which I've been painting this week (32 figures).

I took a photo but it was rubbish    so you'll have to wait a bit to see them.

Oh, and tomorrow I'm playing a game with Paul Darnell, AWI I believe. There'll be photos of it in issue 4 of Touching History. (I'm in issue three already    )

No Vodka bottles, though?

A pig launcher is nice enough, but a DRUNKEN pig launcher, now that's something!

I very much endorse the pig mortar for your Sokhumi units.

*grink!*

Oh yes, Comrade Pig said he approves, too.

Me, I'm going to be one of the in-laws for another unfortunate soul (my half-sister's husband) to have to spend easter with. The prospect is no more exciting from this side of the fence, really.

I wonder when the all-round reluctance to spend time with one's in-laws is going to reach critical mass and humanity will just reach the consensus we don't have to do it anymore  :)

And this is where I am after one day.

New engine mount out of layered styrene, aft opening boarded up and ready for filler and sanding. Not sure if I want to add a small turret up front behind the cockpit or not, and I need something to board up the new engine.

New superstructure added, with a walkway that has room for 2 models. Accidentally glued the door in place without thinking so I'll have to make that right. Guntub on the rear is loose and a try out version, it needs plasticcard, magnets an of course a gun.

Still some way to go with these and the dinobones are now in a puddle of mud (just tossed the brick into a bucket of hot water, better clean it up today)

And cleaned up the dinosaurs too:

Picked these up in the local toystore, 3 euro's a pack.

Scary actually, how much they are in scale compared to 20mm figs. And easy too, as I don't have to order slabs of resin with these embedded and I can make up my own corpses. I prefer my dinosaurs a bit fresher, see....

C'mon, Piers/The Man from La Mancha's King Kong can't have the island to himself, now can he ;)

Hmm, wonder what it would be like to have a pulp game in which the archaeologist or paleontologist players have to physically excavate dino bones or something else out of one of these kits during the course of the game????
Sailors have more fun!
