Thanks for the review!

I got the rules when I backed the Welsh Kickstarter...And after reading them I started to feel somehow a bit stupid, especially when it came to combat mechanics. I am glad now to read your review and see that I'm not alone with the feeling that some aspects are really a bit over complicated (for an added value that is often quite limited as well).

I hope to be able to give it more playtime, I guess with time all will become more fluid and easy to grasp, but in general I prefer simpler mechanics, especially because I think of sall skirmish games as a way of playing a quick game. Sometimes with people that are not really familiar with wargames

Gunslinger, I'm a tad like your good self, and can't be doing with rools that make my brayn hurt!
You'll not go for wrong with either 'Ravenfeast' or FFofL for skirmishing. They both embrace the KISS Principle to perfection.

I must add that I do not equal skirmish rules with simple games.

Skirmish games may be every bit as complex as mass battles (and vice versa) and that is fine by me. I like complex games, if not necessarily complex rules as the latter are not always needed for a complex and interesting game.

Very Nice, plan to do my Plantagenet Wars, Bouvines project, and the Barons rebellion here in western France this coming year.

Cheers
