Seraph and Valkyrie
« on: November 03, 2009, 05:27:29 PM »
The story behind these figures encroaches on a "Stop telling me about your character!" convention moment, so skip it if you like, as it is deals with The Worlds In My Head.

The Silmn have been for some centuries involved in a galactic war, resulting in them being pushed out of at least 75% of it. Recently, an entity has appeared in cyberspace they call "The Seraph", who has helped out with attack coordination and somewhat reversed their fortunes. Those pilots and crew who perish in battle whom the Seraph can save, she turns into cyberspace avatars (science = magic. Trust me) in control of fighter craft or other systems on the S.S.F. Valkyrie. The Valkyrie is her ace in the hole. and its presence in a fight generally means the enemy is going to lose the system.

I've posted the ship before, but not here yet:

This is The Seraph, in the same scale as the ship (1.5" base) as might be appropriate to depict on the game mat what the captain of an enemy battleship might see on his screens as she hacks in through his network, projects herself on his screens, and then shuts down the antimatter containment as the screens show her driving her sword through the main drives.

You, sir, are not allowed to attempt a takeover of the solar system until your octopus sobers up.

Wow, it must be pretty cool living in your head, Froggy!   lol

The Valkyrie is a fantastic ship and the "Seraph" concept is a highly nickable idea. I'm mentally searching my lead mountain for a figure I could use for something similar.

Full Thrust, or some other rules?

The ship's for Full thrust.  If I tried to use the Seraph in a Full thrust game I'd better be prepared for my opponent to slug me.

The ship is a scratchbuild from Mordheim terrain sprue, and the Seraph is from parts of two figures by Reaper Miniatures.
