You read my mind Bob. That was my first thought. :D
Might change it though. I have a few more days of thinking.
If I made it an American Football ground, it would fit in with
my first Build Something entry, the abandoned Helter Skelter.

First thought, as Flatpack cottoned onto, was a disused Fratton Park,
home to Pompey (Portsmouth FC) but that would lead to a lot of
micky taking & wouldn't fit in with anything I already have.
Still have the last two (BSC2021 & BSC2022) staring at me from
the shelves.
Second thought was an American (Grid iron) stadium, but those things
are HUGE !!!
Third thought, & I think I'll go with this one, is the long abandoned entrance
to a local (therefore smaller) sports field. This I can fit in with BSC2021 (Disused
Helter Skelter) for a Zombie/PA game. It also means I can make up a town
that it can be based in.

A cunning plan Baldric.

I have started searching the internet for ideas & there are a lot of variety out there.

So Goodison then?  Will be abandoned soon enough, already old and small, fans leave offerings/mementos at dixie deans statue.

I've been studying sports stadia entrances. Not interesting enough.
I believe I need more, so I'm thinking of also:-
Derelict section of bleachers, possibly with a broken scoreboard.
Goal post  (American toasting fork style), &
some damaged wall sections plus graffiti.

Now am I right in thinking I can have up to three bases?
Had a look but couldn't find any reference. I am hopeless with computers. ;D

How about a cricket pavilion? Potential for more interesting architecture than the average footie field. Not that anybody should consider Fratton Park to be in any way average. Many happy childhood holidays spent in Southsea!

I agree that Fratton Park  is not, in any way, average. :D
Cricket pavilion is a good idea, but if I make an American sports field
it can be used with other bits I have (e.g. two years ago & my entry for
build something comp. i.e. abandoned Helter Skelter)

Have you been on that?  Brave man!
I went on similar at Blackpool because I thought it nice an not threatening,
then just as it pulled away my mate pointed out how old it looked & did I
think the OLD bolts could take all the strains of the violent turns.

I was taken on it by my mother's cousin when I was about 6 (I'll be 64 later this year) so it was newer then, but I was still terrified, 'though less so than my ground-based father!

My now-gone Great Aunt had a house built for her in the Karoo on her sheep ranch by my uncles - one an architect and one a surveyor. As this was in the middle of nowhere, they built it perfectly east-west so as to "screw with the archeologists who dug it up"

My wifes family all farm in the Little Karoo...  I bet they would know the house...  LOL

First of all, sorry for not posting any in progress shots.
I will register my usual plea for mercy/understanding...Real life has been getting in the way.
Yesterday I almost withdrew from the competition, but sat down & took a few Smarties,
M&Ms for our friends across the Pond. I will get an entry finished.

Last night I hacked a lot of blue foam off-cuts & played around with placement. They were
glued into place & I went to bed a bit late.

Yeah, I know it looks s#!t, but I have loads of time yet. :D

A few more pictures, including the goal post. Late last night I was on the computer
trying to find a picture of one to confirm what they looked like. Much like an elephant,
you know it when you see it, but how to make one????

I keep telling myself it will get better.
