BSC2023: Overlords Chinese Ancestral Hall/Small Temple
« on: January 26, 2023, 02:48:59 PM »
A chinese ancestral hall or small temple for use in my Back of Beyond games.

Pic to give an idea, but mine is intended to be simpler and smaller:

Traditional scratch-build in a mix of materials.
Roof is probably the biggest challenge of the build, but I have a cunning plan...

Hopefully this will encourage me to complete my other chinese buildings (from Oshiro), sat unfinished in a box for the past few years  ::)

Especially the roof seems pretty ambitious, but very cool; curious to see where you'll take this :)

I am really looking forward to this build. I am interested how you will address the roof.

I know....  ::)

I've made plans for what I have in mind, which I don't often do.  The complex roof means I need to have a better idea what I'm doing early on.  Subject to change and adjustment as I go along. (already I may lower the wall height a bit)

First part to build will be the base; Mostly foamed PVC for strength and so I can emboss a tiled floor.

Nice practical looking plan that looks like it can be built within the confines of the contest. Good luck!

I always enjoy your builds Paul and this is certainly the most ‘planning’ I remember (did even the 007 set have such a well drawn plan?)
