You don't specify scale, so I'm assuming 25mm/28mm or equivalent in this response,

For starters, there are diecast vehicles, like the venerable Matchbox Models of Yesteryear or Lledo if you can find them.  Sometimes a visit to the toy section of the local thrift store can uncover a treasure trove of gaming supplies.  Sometimes not, though - it can sometimes be a frustrating experience.

There are some WWII era transports that can be used, although some conversion might be necessary, as some trucks are too obviously military in appearance.  Company B has Model T Fords available.

Blue Moon has a line (Highways and Byways) of suitable vehicles.

Matchbox Models of Yesteryear and Lledo Days gone By on ebay are a good start.
Also look for Gusval Replica on ebay. Sorry, should have ask what scale.
Those are suggestion for 28mm to 32mm miniatures.

Guess I was typing at the same time as Will! Also check for model railroad sites
in O scale for vehicles.

Besides Matchbox and Lledos,  ad already mentioned, try Eligor and Solidos diecasts too.   You can find them on Ebay at times too.

If you'd like, look at my thread a couple threads below this one.  I've got pics of all my vehicles for that period on display.  Oughta give you an idea of the diecasts that are out there...
