My Russians only have a few BTRs and a T55.  I may need to get them an upgrade.... :D

Re badge them as NVA and start again with the Russians.

My BTRs and BMPs aren't badged so they can serve multiple masters. The T-55s on the other hand are rather distinctively outfitted as East German. At this point my Russians are served by a solitary T-62, so a definite need for reinforcement.

Yeah, mine are rather generically marked as well.  Still could do with something beefier than a T55, I reckon....

Here is a question for the learned.

We are making the early version and the early 1980's version. The 1980's version has the NSVT HMG on the turret. However this only came into service in the mid 1970's.

Therefore I assume the turret HMG was the DsHk. However cannot find any information or more importantly pictures of this. Not a surprise as the T64 during that period was hush hush.

Any of you clever people out there know?????

Luv you lots, Paul

Yes. In part that depends on what you mean by early. The original production T-64s didn't have an AAMG. Such things had fallen out of favour in the early 1960s as they were seen as being pointless in the jet age. The early T-55 and T-62 models were without an AAMG.

In the light of the Vietnam War and the emergence of helicopters as a real threat this was reconsidered. Thus the T-62 production line from 1972 onwards added a cupola with an AAMG and many of the earlier T-55's were rebuilt and retrofitted with such.

According to Zaloga, the Utes 12.7mm AAMG AKA the NSV was added to T-64A production from 1973. That makes sense as its general intro date seems to have been 1971.

So yep, NSVs for both models, unless you want to do the really early T-64 with 115mm gun.
