Aha, a refight of a refight. Some people don't see the point of playing historical scenarios anyway; some see replaying a historical scenario as compounding the problem of "we know what happened". The simple fact that you guys had fun is enough justification, but anyway, I wrote a "Reflections on Wargaming" essay on this topic that generated a lot of interest and comment, so let me offer that again here:

Well, the Fencibles have a replay of your Shiloh scenario on tap for this weekend. We've played it some 5 times or so over the years but last played it back in 2017. It's a cracking game and a couple of our newer members haven't played it before. If everyone shows up I'll game master.

I have played other Shiloh scenarios in other rules where the Union side can relax after the first couple turns. This one is a desperate affair from the start, always gives an exciting game. Plus I get to put my scratch built gunboat on the table. I made a canvas mat for this scenario.

Well, it's great that what was really an unsubtle slog in the woods has such enduring interest as a game. I'll look forward to another fine photo-AAR in due course. And your mat does look good!
