Would someone with more skills than I possess fancy having a go at modelling one of these chaps? I think it would be quite interesting.

Interesting pictures: did the same artist two versions of that concept, or is one a shameless copy?

Anyway, it's a smashing VSF design, and should not be so easy to build. Apart from not having time at all ...

actually, they are both copies of this original from 1865:


the others being from 1876 and 1879 respectively
"The steam man" seems seems to have been a protagonist in stories from that period, and also the very first concept of a robot

Ha! I've never seen the pictures before (love em btw) but I have something similar thats  been sitting on my worktable since I put my "I Steambot" project on hold.
