You decide on the direction of the war
« on: February 28, 2023, 06:16:18 AM »
The Armchair General by John Buckley. An interesting read that visits important decision points in World War II, putting you in the shoes of various characters related to that moment in time, so that you can choose which path to take, the historical one - or an alternative.

The detail is good and feels credible, giving insight into the influences that were pulling at decision makers at the time.

I have put up a synopsis over on the blog for anyone interested.

Having just finished reading this, I too can heartily recommend this book.
It could easily lead to 'What if' campaigns & scenarios.
Fun knowing the historical decisions, yet 'I took the one less traveled by,' (Robert Frost)

A historical "Choose Your Own Adventure"?
An interesting idea.  I'll have to look into that one, thank you.
