Using a scenario (slightly tweaked) from Galactic Heroes we had a game today.
Basic plot = The plans to an Imperial Doom Moon (Death Star) have been stolen.
The Rebels have half hidden in a Robot they have with them. The
other half is in another Robot, but there are (in our game) nine others!
Rebels need to get from one corner of the table to the diagonal opposite,
where their escape vehicle is. They need to find the other half too.
The Imperials start in the other two corners. They also need to find the
right Droid, as well as recovering the half the Rebels are holding.

To these basics I added the following:-
Groups of Kroot are wandering around town, try not to aggravate them.
T-Kar (squid like junk scavengers) lurk everywhere. Beware, they're venomous.
Snappers (Vicious rodents about the size of a dog) frequent 'Dark places'.
Sharn-Ich (Flying Carrion about the size of a cow) have been known to
swoop down on the unwary from the nearby cliffs.
Vehicles & machinery continue with their business (Noise & movement).

The environs for the game go by the sobriquet of 'Breath Taking' Named by some-one with
a sense of humour. This is definitely the crappy end of town, well away from the Space
Port of Koff-Va-Tery & the prying eyes of the Imperium.
Today, though, Officers of the local Authority are to be seen here.
Plans to the Empire's latest creation have been stolen. One possible lead ends here.
It is believed the Rebels are still on planet, as informers say they only have half of the plans,
the remainder are thought to be concealed in a Latrine Droid, but there are sooooo many!!!
Imperial or Rebel you must end the game with both parts of the plans.

The Jokers (unlike the book's scenario) control the Scharn-Ich's arrival/departure.

The last rule told to the players was, that instead of just rolling a D 10 whenever checking
a Droid, they had 60 seconds to name up to ten of...(changed each time. Subjects given
included:- Edged weapons, WW2 Planes, Napoleonic battles, Nations conquered by the
Romans, Elvis hits, Sci-Fi Movie franchises & Invaders of the British Isles, to name but a
few. What can I say neither side was brilliant at this, though a prize should go to Ian for
most attempts.) When the moment was up they had to throw BELOW their number.
e.g. get five right = must throw 4 or less, so even if they got ten right their search
could still fail if they threw a Ten. A success meant they threw another D 10. Get a
ten on that & they had found the Robot. If it wasn't the right one it was removed from play.
If it got down to just one robot remaining, that had to be the one.

Rebels were played by John (Various Robots provided by Bob) & Garry (a mixed bunch
 provided by myself.)
Imperials were played by Bob (his 1950s Jet Rangers) & Ian (his Sci-Fi Police)

First of the pictures show the set up & some of the local fauna.

Pictures of Garry's crew. I am relying on the others to show pictures
of other teams as I was at the wrong end of the table & busy umpiring.

Last picture shows the attack swarm of Sharn-Ich, which chose Garry.
As previously mentioned Jokers dictated arrival/departure of said carrion.
We started playing the game with a pack of Mandalorian playing cards.
For some reason the manufacturers did away with Spades, Hearts, Clubs
& Diamonds, replacing them with various Mandalorian Helmets.??????
Despite adding a guide to the players' QRSs it slowed the game so much
we reverted to 'normal' cards after move one. Only when we finished &
comment was made on the non re-appearance of the Sharn-Ish did we
check the pack...No Jokers!!!
 lol lol lol

A few other pictures.
449 = Two of John's Robots
453 = Ian's security approaching one of the suspect Droids
452,457,462, 463 & 465 =Kroot just going about their normal routine.
466 = A work skiff 'acquired' by the Rebels to make their escape at the end.

The plans turned out to be in the very last Droid. >:(
Both sides indulged in a LOT of fire-fighting & casualties were heavy.
The Imperials got the missing half, but failed to get both parts. Shooting
up the Rebel's escape craft failed to stop them getting away (They stole
a a-grav skiff).
We will have to play a follow up game. Rebels sneaking onto a secure
Imperium facility/spaceship.

Great fun was had & no Sanitary Droids were damaged in the processing
of this adventure.

If you haven't played Galactic heroes (or any of their other games) I recommend
that you give it/them a try.
 :)

Fun, fun, fun, with mind bending questions for Ian to answer = yesterdays game.

My team whizzed round the planet, using their 1950’s jet packs.
Flying here and there, trying to track down the wondering robots.
I never did find a robot with the missing plans.  lol

Bit of a shootout with Garry’s gang, including his armed hoover.
Lost out on that one.

The game was a good giggle, and allowed me to get my new 3d printed sci-fi figures onto the table for their first run-out.

Thanks to Pete for setting up and umpiring the game, and thanks to the rest of the gang for playing.

A few photos from the game….

My jet ranger scanning the view.

Jet rangers advance.

Initial jet ranger deployment.

It’s a mad world.

Big boys 1 and 2. 1950 deep sea divers on the rampage.

If you fancy some of this scatter terrain, drop has.been a mail. He has tons of it  lol

One big boy destroyed.

Attack of the “flying cows”.

Box head droids on the move.
These look like speed cameras on legs. I almost painted them yellow initially.

Both big boys destroyed.

Fun rules = fun game.

I think he viewed it like banging your head against a brick wall...lovely when you stop.
He did manage to find the Droid with the plans, so the Dark Lord won't be to hard on him. :D

It was a fun time. All questions are easy if you know the answers, difficult if you don't.
Ian used up valuable seconds in that round telling us how much he hated Elvis. He was
excellent on other rounds, such as 'Sets of Rules' but then he has written (& published)
 loads himself.  lol lol lol

Thanks James, sorry you were working & missed it. A lot of the scenery will be packed up
& passed to you for selling on e-bay. I want to make more, but am running out of room.

Thanks Bob. Your pictures (of the other end of the table) show off your 3D printed Robots
better than my photos did. Thanks for bringing them all & for entering (as everyone did) into
the spirit of a nice & silly game. I am away now to think of other 'Name 10 ...' subjects for
the return game. :D
