Love the man powered trebuchet. You don't see many of them around despite them being (without doubt in my mind) the most common trebuchet's used on the siege lines.

Nice build, but I don't see how this is going to work. Also the blokes pushing the cover haven't an easy job. I estimate the thing weighing between 1/4 and 1/2 ton. With the tiny wooden wheels on rough or muddy soil it will hardly be moved by only two of them. Please teach me!

Me?

If you know  - yes please! I would appreciate insights by anyone who has a clue. I'm reenacting 11th century for years, but every now and then I find something odd that I haven't seen before.

The model of that small trébouchet is such an example. Maybe it's only the projectile that is completely off proportion in comparison to the counterweight, but I can't really understand from what I see how that thing will hurl that rock.

Also what are those blokes pulling with their ropes? If they try to move the cart, it is odd to have the ropes on the boom due of the risk to flip the entire thing over.

It's not a thread that I started Mitchi and would be rude for me to jump in and answer in place of Bluewillow

The invention of the counterweight trebuchet immediately rendered traction trebuchets obsolete amongst manufacturers of wargames figures. Especially 6mm ones....

Agree on the small wheels Michi, probably need to add some more crew inside at some stage :). The trebuchet guys are pulling the latch to release the catch, it is an old range and the boulder is way to big too

Foundry pieces
