How about the AT-43 Karmen vehicles?
http://www.rackham.fr/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=60&Itemid=310

Not a fan personally but they're very Pulpy.

2nd the Karman vehicles (YMMV but I like 'em).

The vehicles which will arrive when the AT-43 ONI army is released are going to be really useful for near-future gaming.  :-X

There are also two other vehicles for Halo over and above the must-have Warthog.

You can still pick up Kryomek vehicles and Void Syntha Cyclops tanks & Hunter-killers from Scotia Grendel

Have you thought about the transforming Star Wars vehicles?  The ARC-170 is not too shabby.

The Terminator Salvation Flying H-K - still available on eBay for £14 incl. P&P.

Infinity has some nice walkers and some very cyberpunk motorbikes.

I was rather sad to find out that Armorcast nolonger make their 28mm Battletech miniatures, those things were some of the largest and prettiest mechs ever to be cast.

...As for the whole north/south thing...I'm from Edinburgh, and I'm currently 200 odd miles farther north than there at the moment, you soft southern t....

Sorry if I missed it, but has anyone mentioned GZG's vehicles?

They are more "hard-SF" as opposed to pulp/space opera but are lovely models. True 25mm, but they look good with  28mm stuff and they have some pretty nifty designs - wheeled, tracked and grav.

I agree the HALO Warthog is a superb model. I have two which I need to re-paint but have misplaced them somewhere  >:(

As for the Deathglider, well.... there is a 1/48 ish one here:

.....but I don't know if you are much good at robbing banks to be able to afford it ::)  lol

Thanks for all the replies folks!

Just by chance, I spotted this little beauty in M&S of all places (stocking them as part of their "boys toys" range cos of the 40 year anniversary):

A lovely kit by Revell, and in 1:48 too so more or less the right size.

And I managed to persuade the Mrs to buy me it for Christmas.  :D

As lovely as that model lander is I must admit my first reaction was bulk out the legs, get some pistons on them and have it stomping about, then I took the time to notice how nice a model it already was.

If you are just wanting to convert/upgrade landers, you can get some quite cheap ones in seaside gift shops, sometimes in a bag full of "spacemen" and other gubbins.

I get the 5-6 inch action figure vehicles and convert them to fit 28mm figures. Power Ranger & G. I. Joe stuff works really well. Some Star wars stuff too. The Desert skiff was re-released recently & one was also released in the lil-tyckes range about half the size as the action figure one. These make great Martian air ships with little convertion.
