Fizzer Johnson have launched a new range of French Napoleonic Cavalry wearing capes.

Starting with French Cuirassiers and Line Chasseurs a Cheval which will be formally launched at Salute.

The plan is to push on with French Hussars, Polish Lancers and French Dragoons in capes by the summer with the Imperial Guard next on the hit list to follow soon after.

Attached are photos of prototype greens which are undergoing further tweaks before we proceed to casting in the next 10 days or so.

The eagle eyed will spot the trumpeter needing a tunic and not a cuirass, some work on the saddles needs to done and some refinement to the eagle too, plus some other minor nips and tucks... but hopefully you can see where we're heading.

Fizzer figures are designed to fit in seamlessly with the very best of the rest, so expect our figures to sit well in the ranks alongside the well known 18mm and 15mm brands we all love.

The Cuirassiers are available to order on our website now in units of 12 mounted figures, dispatch projected for mid April.  The Chasseurs a Cheval will be listed shortly.

Me too.. it'll be a tall order to get the sculpts tweaked and cast and then painted up in time for Salute, but we;ll do our very best.

Worst way we'll have them ink washed and in the display cabinet.

Fantastic sculpts - excellent work.  Will this cover all nations (or at least the main ones)?

This, along with light cavalry skirmishing with carbines whilst in the saddle, has been a major omission from ALL Napoleonic ranges in ALL scales/sizes - even from manufacturers who went out of their way to make infantry in greatcoats.

Well done!

Praise indeed, much appreciated.

In answer to your question, we'll roll out the caped French cavalry as fast as we can and then look at the demand to see where we go next.

We have a large British Infantry offer, so the most sensible thing would be to look at British cavalry too to wrap that project up.

I'm definitely very interested in taking on cavalry for other nations, but in the end the scope and speed that we take on these projects has to be based upon sales.

I do like the idea of skirmishing cavalry, something we've discussed as an option for Fizzer in the future.

In the meantime, we're progressing well with an 18mm Austrian Infantry range and we have a number of other unique projects for our Napoleonic ranges that will be wrapped up and on sale after we get back from Salute.
