Modiphius to expand Five Parsecs and Five Leagues lines

Modiphius has purchased the IP from Nordic Weasel and has plans for it.

quite happy to see this. The nordic weasel games are pretty darn fun, but boy can they stand to have some editing and layout work done to them. pretty pictures don't hurt either ofcourse.

I wonder if they have plans to end their support for Rangers of Shadowdeep if they have 5 Leagues in their range now?

Modiphius do have reputation for abandoning IP they pick up after the initial sales burst passes, so this will not be a long term venture.

On which point they are currently dumping pdf's of the now discontinued Conan game at 90% off, €28 gets you everything they released in a single mega bundle.

This is my concern too.

Ivan's games are great fun and part of why I like them is the independent, rough-round-the-edges, but keenly supported nature of them.
Ivan being lead writer will no doubt ensure momentum, at least initially, but past that? If Modiphius lose interest does that mean it becomes a dead line and Ivan can't continue it independently?

I'm wary, but at least we'll have some new high quality content regardless, and it's the long term I'm wary of.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something - does this mean shiny, new versions of the other Fivecore games (e.g. Five Men in Normandy/Five Men at Kursk), or just expansions and/or new editions for Five Parsecs and Five Leagues?

Edit: I read the article, as I should've done before posting, and it seems that a shiny retail version of Five Men in Normandy is indeed in the works! Very excited, I really like the ruleset and while there is something to be said for the indie vibe of the original, I personally would NOT mind a hardcover at all
