Naval Forces for Chilean/Peruvian/Bolivian War of 1879-84?
« on: April 14, 2023, 05:25:22 PM »
Good afternoon.  For some reason best known to myself I've become quite interested in this war. I know Pendraken produce land forces in 10mm, but am also on the lookout for the navies. I recall that at least one manufacturer produces ships in either 1/600 or 1/1200, and think that you can also buy files for 3D printing. Naval isn't really a big interest of mine so I'm not familiar with the range of manufacturers, particularly the lesser-known niche suppliers.  Can anyone help point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

Thanks. I wasn't thinking of Tumbling Dice but having seen their website they do look nice models. I'm waiting for a book on the naval war and will then see what I can do.

I carved two navies out of balsa and old Lino as a schoolboy. We had a lot of fun games using a free set of rules out of one of the magazines (“Noddy rules for ACW naval or something similar...)

Yes they were fun. Guns were divided into, 'Daddy guns, Mummy guns or Baby guns'
I might even still have the pages, torn from the magazine. :D

By the way whilst idly searching for something else I found the Company I was searching for. They are called Spithead Models. They primarily focus on 1/1200 mid 19th century naval but also include some 16th century, 17th century Anglo-Dutch and Napoleonic ships in their lists.
