More BLAM 09 - Photos Galore!
« on: October 31, 2009, 06:28:02 PM »
As many people may have noticed the little time I wasn't playing or running games at BLAM I was running round with a camera and I've finally got around to sorting the photos out, because there are just shy of 100 I've put them up in a gallery instead of linking photos into this message:

Gallery of BLAM photos

Sorry there aren't more, but I got distracted by all the painted lead - I'm not used to seeing that at home lol

On the off-chance anyone particularly wants higher quality copies of the images PM me with the number of the photo(s) and I'll see what I can do.

lol, I didn't realise you'd taken a photo of 'squiddy' on the phone! Though I shouldn't be surprised.
So many projects..... so little time.......

That's mainly down to the fact they looked superb to start with thanks to your paint job - I've been tempted to pick some of that range up on the strength of it, that way even if my humble efforts are exactly that I'll know what they can look like lol

And Dewbakuk, how could I not take a photo of 'squiddy'. It's random things like that, which have a habit of making some of the more interesting/amusing photos. Nowadays that I don't have a proper camera on me 24/7, I can see why people like cameraphones - After all if I said I'd seen evidence Charlie Brown killed Snoopy do you think anyone would have believed me?

Thanks for posting these pics.  It's a delight to see wargames pictures that aren't taken from the usual bird's-eye view.

I've seen this one below a few times now.  Every time I see it I think to myself: "This guy's in one of Dante's circles of hell, where he's doomed to paint the same items of scenery the same colors for ever and ever."

Given that I don't particularly enjoy the painting side that would indeed be hell. Although in that shot I'm actually painting the flames which are different colours to the rest of it :)

I have one. It's not really faster as for the floors and walls I use a diluted acrylic art paint and a big brush. The shading is applied by watering down brown shoe polish, applying it quite thickly and then wiping the surface with a sponge to spread it properly and take the higher parts off.

It’s always a good thing when someone post pictures of an event. It keeps me going with my collecting and painting of figures, even if I’m unlikely to go to any wargames event any time soon! Thanks!
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

shoe polish?
interesting technique
guess it would clog the airbrush

but for being in hell You are quite perseverent  ;)
I draw my hat to this scenery - are these bought elements or did You make them Yourself?

Come on, Dany - you clearly need to organise a CLAM!

I mean, I do appreciate that Canada is about 20 times bigger than the entire UK, so it might involve a bit more travelling, but I bet you'd find a few takers willing to make the trip  ;)

The after-gaming refreshments would presumably consist of a CLAM-bake   :D

(Sorry - pathetic I know, but couldn't resist... )
