Warlords of the Earth's Core That Time Forgot
« on: April 29, 2023, 12:53:34 PM »
In the opening stages of WW2 a British cargo ship on route from America to Britain is torpedoed and sunk by a German u-boat. The u-boat surfaces and the crew who emerged on deck and in the coning tower are attacked by two boat loads of survivors from the ship, they soon take control and plan to head for Britain. As the u-boat submerges it gets caught in an underwater whirlpool and dragged down spinning round and round.
When those on the u-boat start coming round they find the sub at a strange angle, the hatches are opened and it's found the sub has been beached on what looks like a desert island. A truce is called while the immediate area is explored...
After starting to advance into the jungle strange amphibian like beings emerge from the water behind them and fur clad savages in front of them!

(Heavily ripped off from the three great Doug McLure films of the 70's 😉)

Both parties defend themselves and just when it looks like all is safe again a new danger turns up...

Everyone opens fire as it advances towards the tasty treats.in the end it collapses under the withering fire. Those that are left then carry on exploring the strange land.
To be continued...

Very interesting.  Now, I'll be waiting to see what else the island has in store from them...

I’m enjoying this - more pictures than words always works for me - I should do it more in my own AARs :D

I like the premise which gives an opportunity to use an unusual mix of figures for the explorers.

Look forward to the continuation.

Fun game - and, while probably not, those look like Khurasan and Rebel Minis figures.

Now, those Doug McClure movies - while also fun and somewhat silly, I'm not so sure anyone should call them 'great' and really mean it.  Great fun, surely, but 'great'?  I guess in the eye of the beholder.  Did you have one eye closed when watching?  o_o lol. Which makes me wonder, can a 'B' movie ever really be 'great'?  Or were they 'C' movies?   :D

And I should talk, I will have a cameo in a game of some Creatures from the Black Lagoon.  But I'm under no illusion whatsoever that the movie was 'great'.  Just great fun for inspiring game shenanigans. ;)

Looks like fun.  What rules are you using?  And when will Caroline Munro show up?

The films are still great to me. I was 10 when the first one was released and a very lonely child who loved films and TV that let me escape reality for a short while. I still watch them at least once a year as they remind me how far I've come since then.
As for the minis they're a good mix of Foundry, Antideluvian, Lucid Eye and CP Models.

Thanks, it was  :) We used the Pulp Alley 2nd ed with the two players vs me as a kind of gm.
Caroline is already to go...  ;)
