Road To Kandahar (Simon Fonthill Novel) by John Wilcox is a decent read - cool description of the attack on Sherpur cantonment and the final battle sequence is exciting too!! It's actually just a fun 'Boys Own' type colonial adventure novel. I read it in about 3 days on holiday last year.
